Food Lovers.

Online/courier business.
The online world is now tantamount to the real world (if not greater). Most works in the logistics happen on the net and those that aren't are heading there sooner or later. Online has replaced the need for post office services and a good thing as less trees are being used, however we still need the delivery of various objects as well as here comes in grocery shopping. Instead of paper its replaced with anything so the governments who are looking to keep the jobs for the officers at the post office can look into this. This does not compete with DHL as it is an internal operation for food as DHL doesn't handle perishables. I tried to send My Gmas crown home made recipe cake to my brother about 2 years ago and couldn't, so DHL no vex for not giving this to you :).

The benefit of this business is that it can be done from home and it doesn’t have to be operated directly online but through various chat zones such as WhatsApp. You may decide to start small and then grow into the web fully. This is for students and mothers at home as well as Grannies and Grandpas. There are existing mobile websites for free as well as for a little token the students in IT can set it up. Wirenode.mobi or such as http://dudamobile.com for those who know atleast a little about building websites and have access to a wireless internet connection.

On a growth level it takes up a wider operating structure. usually larger companies that are in retail use these abroad. Giving that the african market has loads of consumer based products as well as makes foods from scratch this is an idea to explore.

Online grocery stores are not a new thing in developed countries, but they are few here in Africa because the concept is new, unusual, and most people don't know much about it.

Now, besides the fact that there is potential growth for the online food market here in Africa, I support this idea because Online has made it efficient and easier than On Foot or driving to the shop when there is no time. Parents and working parents as well as people who are in time consuming jobs usually suffer as they are forced to either eat in restaurants or take takeaways that may not be healthy when done too much. Home made food is usually healthier. I as a mum would like to order a meal made at home by another mother as well as order for my home supplies. So this business project appeals to me from that perspective. I run a business and I attend school and sometimes this makes me tired but I love home made meals. I can't eat KFC or Nandos every day. I love my traditional foods from Russia and Nigeria as well as Sushi and Chinese food all i make by hand except Sushi requires real dedication and I often have to go and find the caterer or a restaurant that specialises in it.

So this business doesn't only help with grocery shopping but also the house wives and single mums who make delicious meals someone can order from. People can get a site where they find all these meals to order from...and made on preorder based on budget. directly Promoting restaurants and catering services...

The obvious benefits are that online shopping reduces the time-factor and an app can be made to solve the ordering process. There are no long queues. You save up on petrol or transport as well as it is delivered directly home. There is Mr Delivery in the developed worlds but there isn’t such within the developing countries. All that is paid for is the order and a tip to the deliverer.

Customers can take their time in choosing a combination of products for their grocery list without forgetting anything or arriving at a store and not finding the product they want.. The customers can easily compare prices on different products.

Restaurants can look and find trendy meals they could add to their menus as well as invite the mums to give a training to their cooks and chefs or becoming one.

Working closely with farmers and wholesalers would help and food flee markets.

For those who wish to get direct orders they can post their numbers to connect them directly, considering that most people don't have Internet but can use their phone to browse a communication protocol using an app or mobile website which one can get free or at very low cost, as well as using SMS or whatsApp or blackberry to make orders. Using these social network Apps including Twitter saves cost.

Coupons as rewards for customers buying online. I don't think prices should necessarily increase because even now when you buy Pizza you pay the biker guy not the store alone.

This is IT meet Retail meet Packaging type business operations so all the tools used within these industries need to be explored.

At start its groceries and then it in time adds a gift shop. We can look at ways that online payments are simplified to airtime payments that will now be converted to cash using Telkoms support for a share.

We will be exploring the use of eBucks from eTolls and every other e-services before giving you a feedback, buy food with airtime, this is everything meets everything. I have got to hear that PayPal services aren't accessible to many african  cities. There are protocols that aren't looked into properly, well could be many other issues such as the effects the lack of energy and tools not being available to track for security purposes.

The other benefit is that mothers could order food supplies to their kids who are in boarding school or in university. Personally i know that sometimes the youth sit starving after spending their allowance on a favourite thing. Id rather have a naked looking kid than a fainting one. This also allows to make orders for other family members that may be too far away.

The grocery markets can post what they have and the delivery guys can pick it up. This reduces the need to have a warehouse if one is just starting.
